Class of 2022 Senior Party & Events
The Class of 2022 deserves to be celebrated! Plans are taking shape for some fun as the Seniors wrap up their time at WGHS. Keep reading to find out what’s in the works and see how you can lend a hand.
The WGHS Parents' Club hosts an annual celebration of graduating Seniors. This year, we’ll be celebrating the Class of 2022 with an overnight lock-in at WGHS on graduation night which is Tuesday, May 24. It’ll be an alcohol and drug-free celebration of the Class of 2022!
Providing funding for and planning the Senior Party is one of the missions of the Parents' Club. The lock-in is a fun event that allows a safe place for the graduates to celebrate together. The entire party - entertainment, food, decorations, games and more - is provided by the Parents' Club and free to the graduates. Parents and the school community also pitch in to provide prizes given away to the graduates at the party.
The Senior Party is a big deal! It takes a lot of planning, resources and volunteers. If you are able to help with a donation of your time or an item to be used as a gift, following are ways we’d be grateful for your support.
Party Volunteer Sign Ups
We’ll need a lot of help to set up, run the party and clean up. Please check out this Sign Up Genius and find a way to help give our Seniors a fun, safe lock-in party.
This year, we are striving to have a gift for every graduate that attends the party and stays for the duration of the party. The gifts will be of varying values, but worth at least $35. We’re asking for our community’s help in making that happen. Below are some resources to show what is needed and commit to providing a gift for a Senior.
During the party we will be following the district guidelines regarding Covid safety and mask wearing since we will be on school property. Additionally, there will be hand sanitizer available throughout the building and high traffic areas will be disinfected frequently.
Every WGHS Senior has or will soon receive a Class of 2022 Senior t-shirt compliments of the Parents’ Club. They were available for pick up in mid-November. For those not picked up, they were distributed through school. If your Senior has not received a shirt, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Graduate Yard Signs
The yard sign pre-order has closed, but there are a select number of non-customized yard signs available. Please contact email@example.com if you're interested in a yard sign but missed the pre-order.
The Senior Community Car Parade will take place on Saturday, May 21st at 10:00 am. Have your Senior gather friends and decorate their cars! The parade will start on Lockwood Ave West of Rock Hill and head East on Lockwood to Gore. An email for a link to register will be sent out on April 14th to your Senior's school e-mail address. The link will include all the rules and guidelines. The deadline for registration will be May 15th.
Elementary School Walk-Throughs
Elementary School Walk-Throughs will take place on Thursday, May 19 at 1:30 p.m. giving Seniors a chance to return to their WGSD elementary schools. Seniors that choose to participate will be asked to wear their caps and gowns as they walk the halls lined with current students and teachers. Although these walk-throughs have been happening at some schools over the past few years, this coordinated effort will ensure all Seniors have the opportunity. Seniors that didn’t attend a WGSD elementary school are encouraged to participate at a school of their choice and Seniors that attended a WGSD elementary school but continued their education elsewhere are invited to join their former classmates!
Please reach out to us with any questions you have at firstname.lastname@example.org.
