A general discussion was had about looking into ways to revitalize the WGHS PC both in participation and for funding.  Most believe that the Senior Party fundraising and association with the direct mission of the PC is causing confusion and perhaps apathy. Many suggestions were made but the consensus was:
      1. The PC should change its Budget Structure to treat the Sr. Party as a “grant” or set budget item that is significantly lower than the ⅓ approach as adopted these past couple of years.
      2. The Classes should be assigned a specific fundraising to “host” each year (ie a spaghetti dinner for Freshmen, Pancake Breakfast for Sophmores, Junior Prom for Juniors etc.) allowing the funds raised for each event each year hosted by that class to be held in the budget to further fund their Senior Party (or scholarships in addition if they are super successful)
      3. Classes would be allowed to specifically fundraise for their party ONLY in their senior year.
      4. This would encourage more class spirit, work to encourage better parent participation and hopefully increase funding.
      5. Events like the ChiliFest, Top of the Class, Any social events or auctions etc would all fund Enrichment Grants and Scholarships.
      6. This should be phased in with the class of 2021 - They would host a Junior Prom to help kick off their supplementary budget.  As each class gains understanding and enthusiasm for their “Event” the general PC budget line item would be reduced to $8000 - $10000 max.
