The Webster Groves High School Parents' Club is Catching Up with the Class of 2019!

One of the missions of the Parents' Club is to distribute at least fifteen $1,000 scholarships to graduating WGHS seniors. The Club recently caught up with a few of the 2019 scholarship winners, and we had the wonderful opportunity to learn about how their first semesters at school are going. #STLoveWGHS
2019 Scholarship Winner, Trinity Rain Madison

Trinity just finished her first semester at Abilene Christian University in Texas. She is pursuing a degree in Theatre Education.

How Did the WGHS Parents' Club Scholarship Help You?

"First I’d like to thank you all so much! The scholarship you all granted me has helped me immensely. I was able to pay off my first year of college completely with scholarships, the work-study program, and a federal loan. My mom is my rock, but as a single parent, she simply did not have the funds to pay for my education. The WGHS Parents club showed me more support than I could dream of, not only with the scholarship but also with the continual community involvement."

What is Your Favorite Thing About College?

"My favorite thing about college is the community and the culture! I chose to go to Abilene Christian University to major in Theatre Education. The theatre department is extremely selective, and they only admit 12-14 students each year. My professors challenge me each day, and I am very happy with where I chose. I didn’t let the distance, about a 12 hour drive from St.Louis, stop me from pursuing my dream. The area makes it feel like a whole new world. I’ve made strong friendships and participated in several clubs. There is always something to do on campus, and discovering the culture in Texas has been great. I’ve experienced things that Webster Groves didn’t offer like humongous tailgates on Saturday or line dancing on Thursday."

What Are You Looking Forward to This Year?

"As I mentioned, I’m going to Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas (Go wildcats) majoring in Theatre Ed. Last semester I focused more on general education, but this upcoming semester I am taking a boatload of theatre courses and was selected to act in the spring production. I’m excited for those opportunities."

"I wanted to thank y’all once again. I’ve started the process of applying to scholarships for next school year, and I just wanted to commend you all for caring for local students. Have a blessed 2020! I’ve thanked God for all the help y’all have done!"

The Parents' Club is hoping to raise at least $15,000 to support the Class of 2020 Scholarship Program. Here is how you can be a part of making an impact for a student like Trinity!
