"The trip was a success. We were able to lower the cost and scholarship some students! I am hopeful that this will be a long lasting impact on our students," Assistant Principal Shiree Yeggins. The WGHS Parents' Club awarded Assistant Principal Shiree Yeggins a grant to fund the spring 2018 Webster Challenge College Tour. Thirty WGHS students were able to attend. They toured four colleges including Southeast Missouri State University, Arkansas State University, The University of Memphis, and Rhodes College. Your Donations at Work WGHS English Teacher, Tamara K. Rodney, received a grant from the WGHS Parents' Club to fund the purchase of Chromebooks for her classroom. The song is named, quite simply, “Drew.”  It is a tribute to a WGHS alumnus, Drew Thompson; a gifted young bassoonist who unexpectedly passed away in 2013, at the age of 27.  An undiagnosed heart condition took this amazing musician way too young. So, in July of 2016, when the WGHS band was chosen for the honor of performing at the Missouri Music Educators Association, band teacher Jill Young had an idea.  She and the other band directors wanted to commission a musical piece for the band to play, to honor Drew.  And, she did.  Young and the other music...

During the 2016-2017 school year, Jeanette Hencking used grant funds to bring science students to the WISE conference (Women in Science Entrepreneurship). Watch her interview about the conference and the 2016-2017 Women in Science Technovation Challenge. A major focus of the Parents Club mission is to provide opportunities for parents of Webster Groves High School students to network, exchange ideas and work together on projects to benefit Webster Groves High School students.  Funds raised by the Parents Club are used to support this focus by making grants to faculty and staff for projects that enhance students' academic experience.
