Jack Snelling Jack is attending the University of Missouri (Mizzou) studying Music Composition. Jack is busy at school participating in multiple ensembles in Mizzou and Columbia including the MU Wind Ensemble and Concert Jazz Band, in addition to, the Columbia Civic Orchestra. What is your favorite thing about college so far? "My favorite thing about college so far is definitely the freedom that I’ve been experiencing. I love having fewer classes during the day, and I love being able to take only the classes that are appealing to me, as well as having more free time to practice and hang out with friends." How did the WGHS Parents' Club scholarship help you? "Although I had my education paid for in MU-specific scholarship money, the Parents Club Scholarship assisted me in purchasing a bassoon of my own. Bassoon is my primary instrument, and up until now I was unable to afford one to take to college. With the bassoon I was able to successfully make principal chair bassoonist in the MU Wind Ensemble, one of the highest music ensembles on campus!" |
